فى سنة 1930 م أكتشفت كميات كبيرة من أوراق البردى غالبيتها من رسائل بولس الرسول بالقرب من الغيوم فى مصر مع مخطوطات من الأنجيل وسفر الأعمال وهى موجودة فى دبلن وأجزاء فى جامعة ميتشيجان

هذه المخطوطات طبعت فى سنة 1936 م بواسطة فريدريك كانيون

الذى ذكر أنها تاريخ كتابتها كان فى بداية القرن الثالث الميلادى، ولكن عالم البرديات يولريتش ولكون

, ذكر أن تاريخ كتابتها سنة 200 بعد الميلاد وقد أعتمد العلماء النتيجة الأخيرة حتى هذا الوقت، ولكن بعد خمسين سنة فحصها العالم يونج كي كيم
Young Kyu Kim
(يعتقد انه عالم صينى) بواسطة الأجهزة الحديثة وكانت النتيجة التى توصل إليها إلأى أنها يرجع كتابتها إلى 64 م وذلك قبل تولى الأمبراطور دومتيان، وقد قارن كيم الخطوط وإنحنائاتها وأوراق البردى نفسها فوجد أنها تشبه تلك التى كتبت فى القرن الأول الميلادى وبعيدة كل البعد عن التى كتبت فى القرن الثانى الميلادى

تحتوى هذه المجموعة من البرديات على رسائل بولس الرسول كاملة بجانب سفر اعمال الرسل وبعض الاجزاء الاخرى، وتعود جميعها على القرن الثانى والنصف الاول من القرن الثالث، وهى بذلك تعطينا دليل فى منتهى القوة على انتشار الكتاب المقدس وعلى عصمته الاكيدة، وفيما يلى سنقدم صور البردية 46 تشيستر بيتى لرسائل بولس وسفر اعمال الرسل.

This image shows a page from another famous Chester Beatty papyrus, Biblical Papyrus I, a copy of the Four Gospels and Acts of the Apostles. This is the earliest surviving copy of these New Testament texts found in a single volume. The text concerning Paul’s vision begins 11 lines from the top

The Acts of the Apostles

The book known as the Acts of the Apostles was written around AD 80 and is the fifth book of the New Testament. It was possibly written as a companion volume to the Gospel of Luke. Although traditionally identified with Luke, the authorship of the book is unclear and like other works in the New Testament, the title was only assigned in later copies of the text. The text recounts the early years of Christianity in
Jerusalem
and its eventual arrival in
Rome

while Paul was waiting for them, his spirit within him was agitated, observing how the city was full of idols. And so he debated in the synagogue with the Jews and the worshippers, and in the market place…’ Acts, 17: 16-17

Though cited as two separate letters, 1 and 2 Corinthians, the original letters are more likely to have been shorter notes written by Paul to the Christians of the city in the years immediately after his visit (c.AD 50-51). They were probably assembled in their current form after Paul’s death when his Letters were copied for other Christian centres

P46 contains the Pauline Epistles and dates to about 200 to 250 AD (however, some textual scholars have given P46 a date as early as 85 AD). P46, along with P45 and P47, is located at the
Beatty
Museum
near
Dublin
. It contains 86 leaves and stands about 11 by 6 and a half inches. The text is mixed, with both Alexandrian readings and Traditional Text readings

Magdalen Papyrus

The Magdalen papyrus has recently been listed as one of the oldest NT manuscripts. Dr. Carsten Thiede in his book Eyewitness to Jesus dates this small fragment to 66 AD. It contains Matthew 26: 7-8, 10, 14-15, 22-23 and 31. And, it supports the Traditional Text
