Any of various mammals of the family Leporidae, especially of the genus Lepus,
similar to rabbitsbut having longer ears and legs and giving birth to active, furred young

Game animal,
similar to rabbit but larger; caught wild but not farmed commercially. Lepus europaeus is the common hare, but some twenty Lepus species occur in

Europe

Hare
cecotropy
” او “
coprophagy

Biology By Peter Raven & George Johnson 4
thEdition , Chap. 45

Bacterial Digestion of Cellulose Within Animals – Vertebrates lack enzymes to digest plant material. Some bacteria can do so and are harbored by animals.. Rats and rabbits redigest cellulose another way. [They]
eat feces and literally redigest them a second time. Efficiency approaches that of
ruminants

.

Caryl Hilscher-Conklin
M.S. in Biology, University of Notre Dame
cecotropy
” او “
coprophagy
“:

One may not give much thought to the lazy chewing of the cud that we observe cows doing all the time, but this behavior is analogous to coprophagy. The only difference between cud chewing and coprophagy is the point in the digestive tract at which nutrients are expelled and then placed back into the mouth

coprophagy
coprophagy

http://www.rmca.org/Articles/coprophagy.htm

coprophagy
coprophagy

Cud

http://www.answers.com/topic/cud

1.

Food regurgitated from the first stomach to the mouth of a ruminant and chewed again.

2.

Something held in the mouth and chewed, such as a quid of tobacco

.

ruminate

http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/ruminate

To chew again or over and over
.

coprophagy

http://lexicons.sakhr.com/openme.asp?fileurl=/html/3063735.html

Hare
